HMRC are introducing Making Tax Digital [MTD] to modernise the UK tax system and to make it one of the world’s most digitally advanced tax administrations, aiming for everyone in business to keep digital records. This systemic change will take several years to encompass each taxpayer and therapists [and other sole traders and property renting landlords] are part of the initial transition into MTD from 6th April 2026.
Please join us to understand how you will be affected and what your new reporting responsibilities will be.
Paul Silver-Myer is an accountant and an existential psychotherapist. Some years ago he realised that half of his accountancy practice was about numbers, but the other half was about the people behind those numbers, yet 99% of his accountancy training was about the former. So he signed up for a foundation course in counselling and the rest, as they say, is history. In addition to a small therapy practice, he also prepares tax returns for over 200 therapists and therapy organisations, making full use of his understanding of the business of accountancy and therapy.

With the trauma of war, migration, and the refugee experience, resonating powerfully today, the film’s underlining theme of the role of art in healing is inspiring.
As a young girl, Marika Henriques was hidden from the Nazis in a Budapest cellar. She survived the Second World War only to find herself forced to flee Communist Hungary in her early 20s. Safely in Britain, she trained as a Jungian therapist. But it was the cathartic creation of extraordinary art that helped her to process her childhood trauma over several decades. Now in her 80s, she tells her story for the first time.
The review in The Journal of Analytical Psychology states: “The cumulative impact is assaultive, inspiring, intriguing and moving by turns”
The review in Outside In: “I shall carry this with me as I continue with my own inner work”

Continuing Professional Development for Counsellors and Psychotherapists
Our varied range of CPD workshops are held either in-person in North London, or online via Zoom. Currently all of our meetings are on Sundays.
Our CPD workshops are welcoming social occasions. We know counselling and psychotherapy can be a lonely profession, and most trainings are either online or in a room with strangers.
ACPNL events aim to combine professional development with the opportunity to meet colleagues in person, build connections and friendships in the pleasant surroundings of our venues.
Workshops cost £30 for members, and £40 for non-members for a half day.
All are welcome. To book your place visit our Eventbrite page.
